Comments on: Content Is No Longer King https://ducttapemarketing.com/content-key-growth/ Sat, 01 Sep 2018 13:32:16 +0000 hourly 1 By: Stephanie Somers https://ducttapemarketing.com/content-key-growth/#comment-68030 Sat, 28 May 2016 01:23:00 +0000 http://ducttapemarketing.com/?p=25800#comment-68030 I for one am overjoyed that we’ve caught up to the global market in this aspect of how we carry on conversations. Long-form content has enjoyed higher consumption rates in markets outside the U. S. for years. When I entered the online marketing world three years ago, the landscape was very different, as you said, driven by SEO-hunger. Now I feel the pendulum is swinging excessively toward visual content as the new clickbait. With Creative Commons Zero HD photos so much easier to access and Canva making editing fun and easy, we are quickly creating visual background noise.

I’m glad Content has been dethroned in favor of his neglected younger sister, Consistant Connection.

Appreciate the interesting article, especially at a time when so many bloggers are exploring “content upgrades” as a way to monetize their blogs and draw people into their funnels. You can’t really expect people to want your “upgrades” if your original content is short of being… not amazing… but simply problem solving.

If your content instills confidence in your visitors that you can actually help them solve their problems (as your front-end blog post content just demonstrated)… they’ll upgrade all day long.

If you short-change them, though, they’re gone and a thousand more similar worthless content pieces won’t change that.

I really don’t know the answer to that question since it would be dependent on factors specific to you and your business. I’m hosting a free webinar next Wednesday (5/18/16) on gaining more clarity, control, confidence and customers. I think it might help? https://www.ducttapemarketing.com/system-v2-webinar/

Thanks, Pat. Glad you liked it. Yes, strategic is always good.

Do you have any advice for trying to help business owners realize this? My best efforts seem to be falling on deaf ears, and only about one in four get it. Is this about normal or could it be more likely my message is not hitting the mark? Thanks ????????

A lot of overwhelm I feel from business owners comes from them shrinking in fear at the volume they feel they need to create – when this is just not needed.

Be strategic I say.

Good post. Thanks!

I have. Lots of niche tools like them but I am seeing larger suites start to offer these types of functionality as the API’s across channels mature. Facebook and Instagram are the big ones our enterprise clients ask constantly for. Merging the organic page/post metrics with paid advertising across channels will be the next shift for optimization, I feel.

Right, Erica. The content definitely needs to be relevant and reach the right audience. Have you heard of AdEspresso? This is a tool that I use for FB Advertising, A/B testing.
