No worries – all fixed – although #3 was correct as original – the use of search in that manner is very common. Thanks for the suggestions.

Copying and pasting a great piece of writing into your CMS doesn’t instantly a make it a great page.

If your copy is any longer than it needs to be to convey the meaning of page, you’re charging your visitors more than necessary.

A search-friendly page aligned with a good key phrase may be read hundreds of times more than a page written without search in mind.

This is a shame because I believe the article has merit, but it’s hard to overlook errors such as these. After all the author loses some of his credibility when he omits words or puts in words that shouldn’t be there. I strongly suggest that the article be edited or at least proofread a little closer.

I believe these three sentences should read:

I hope this post is taken in the way it was intended, which is constructive criticism and not as something to demean or to be cruel. I just thought it was worth mentioning and hope that it helps the author to realize that impressions are just as important as content.

Excellent point, Mary. I tend to focus on blog posts and articles, but these tips are just as important for web pages, case studies, etc.

Thanks for the comment!

Often the people who provide the copy for sites are experienced in writing for print, but not the Web. Wise Web designers would pass on Andy’s tips to their clients so the sites they create would be as effective as possible.
